Training Required to Become a Facilitator of Holotropic BreathworkAll certified facilitators of Holotropic Breathwork must undergo an extensive training process which requires a minimum of two years to complete. The training is run by the Grof Transpersonal Training organization. During the course of the two years, trainees spend a total of nine full residential weeks in various locations. Trainees come from all over the world. In addition to extensive training in the theory of Transpersonal Psychology and in Stan Grof's work and model of consciousness, a significant aspect of the program involves creating a space for trainees to delve deeply into and work with their own inner process; to face and integrate the deeper, unowned aspects of self. The GTT training process recognizes that in order to be there for others who are going through deep process work, facilitators must first go through their own. Currently, there are about 925 trained and certified Holotropic Breathwork facilitators throughout the world.
